Performance plays a central role in my life. I have had the privilege of participating in masterclasses with internationally renowned flautists and have performed with a variety of orchestras and ensembles, experiences that continue to shape and inspire my teaching.
Alongside performing, I am deeply committed to music education. I have experience teaching individual students from beginner to advanced levels, supporting their development both in and outside of exam frameworks. I regularly prepare students for graded exams, helping them achieve their goals with confidence and enjoyment. I also play piano and am able to accompany students during lessons when needed, offering well-rounded musical support. In addition to one-to-one teaching, I have taught in a variety of educational settings, including primary and secondary schools, as well as leading ensembles.
My teaching is student-centred and holistic, meaning I tailor each lesson to the learner’s individual needs, aspirations and learning style. Whether you are working towards exams or simply learning for fun, I aim to foster creativity, confidence and a lasting love of music.
To ensure I offer the best possible learning experience, I stay engaged with the latest developments in pedagogy and instrumental teaching. Most recently, I have been completing a Certificate for Music Educators, further enhancing my skills as a reflective and forward-thinking teacher. In addition, I am currently studying for a Master of Science in Performance Science at the Royal College of Music, which deepens my understanding of the psychological, physiological, and social aspects of music performance and education. This ongoing academic and professional development informs my teaching practice and supports my commitment to nurturing well-rounded, confident, and motivated learners.
I hold current Public Liability Insurance and an enhanced DBS certificate, ensuring a safe and professional environment for all students.
