A student-centred approach to teaching

Welcome! I'm Katie Ratcliffe and I am a flute and clarinet teacher based in Northampton. I offer personalised teaching for learners of all ages and abilities. I teach from my home and can also travel to students within the local area for an additional fee. 

I offer flute lessons up to and beyond Grade 8, and clarinet lessons up to Grade 5. I also provide support with aural training for all grades and music theory up to Grade 5. I prepare students for both ABRSM and Trinity College London exams, tailoring the choice to suit each individual's goals and learning style.

My teaching is student-focused, meaning your interests, ambitions and pace of learning are always at the heart of each lesson. Whether you are working towards exams or playing for fun, I aim to make lessons engaging, supportive and rewarding.
